Local Lodge 2339N Members

I would like to continue the journey of communicating with you on a monthly basis as I did during the campaign.  We continue to bridge the gap by regrouping our committees and making them  alive and active once again.  The communication team is working hard behind the scenes as we continue to add to this diverse group of individuals.  This week they will start making themselves a face in both crew rooms to begin the task of informing and getting you in the know through involvement.  The February business meeting was met with positive challenges that we will continue building on going forward.  We are out the gate with many activities in the planning that allows your to chose what matters to you.  We are moving forward with active involvement in the community of where we are based and encourage you to to the same at home. The first 2 quarters we will be taking action with the MNPL conference, Susan Komen walk in Newark, FA conference in April, and the Aids walk in New York this May just to name a few.

This is a year that we all need to maintain focus as both work groups will be in contract negotiations as the year progresses.  The Continental group is under way and your negotiation team is scheduled to meet again this Feb 22-26 making this the third time they have met with the company since the contract has become amendable.  We want to remind you that a contract does not expire it becomes amendable.  The new web site is constantly a work in progress so we can always adapt to the changes around us.  I want to encourage you to check out the newly vamped lodge web address at www.ll23394u.org so you can work with the facts.  We will archive our monthly business agendas so you can know how your money is being spent.  People have been asking if we will continue communicating through videos?  We made a commitment to communicate using as many methods as we can.  I hope you sign up on our email list so you can be apart of receiving viable information.

I hope anyone interested in making their union work for them will step up to the plate and email us at working4u@ll23394u.org to allow us to sit down to discuss committees with you.  The next monthly business meeting is just around the corner March 9th 2010 at the Renaissance hotel 3p.m.  I will be on an excused absence for an approved convention in Savannah, GA.  I ask that you give our Vice President Michael E. Becerra the same respect as you have given me when he takes the helm in my absence to work for you by chairing the meeting.

Wishing everyone safe flying.

In Solidarity,

President LL2339N
Joey Guider
