CONTINENTAL CONTRACT 2010 UPDATE

Your negotiating committee and the company reconvened the week of February 22nd thru 26th, 2010.
The committee was pleased to welcome the arrival of the Newark Base Chairperson to our team.
The committee wasted no time delving into the remaining letters of agreement.
Discussions continued to focus on incorporating the LOA”s into the body of the Agreement where
applicable as well as reviewing and strengthening those letters that need to remain in force.
The parties engaged in spirited and lengthy debate over several areas.

While progress was made, it is still early in the process, and the more difficult sections are ahead of us.
In order to assist your negotiating committee, please take the following steps:
 Sign up for the weekly updates by going to www.go142.org and “Join our E-mail List”.
 Take the negotiations survey. The first phase of the survey will remain online until March 15th
at which time we will review the data and begin the second phase. Click on this link to take the

Go to your union representatives with your questions about negotiations not your supervisors
Get clarification and dispel rumors. If you are not sure about something you hear ask your
union representatives.

Attend your local lodge meetings for the latest updated information on negotiations.
These simple steps will go a long way in assisting your committee to improve your industry-leading
contract for members to vote on.

Remember we are only as strong as our weakest link. Support each other and unify around your
committee for success.
