Members of LL2339-N:

I would like to first say welcome back home to our crews that were stranded for a week in UK and Europe.  We know these times can be challenging, and we want you to know your Union is working hard for you.  The grievance team is working with out the assistance of the company, to figure out the total number of crew members that were stuck abroad.  Over the next few days we will have the list compiled on the site, and if your name/flight number is not listed please let us know right away.  The Union has 30 days from the time of instance to get your grievance filed.  If you have any questions about the process please stop by the Union table and speak with one of your reps.  We hope to get this process moving and completed as quickly as possible.

This months business meeting was successful with all that were in attendance.  I would like to thank the Brothers and Sisters at ExpressJet for there show of support.  We will continue to reach out to everyone to inspire you to want to get involved making your Union work for you.  The website, along with our Union bulletin boards will have the agenda placed so you can know as members what was approved.  The Executive Board (e-board), works together each month to ensure the lodge moves in a healthy direction.  We know it can be hard to make time, but with all the buzz in the news with mergers we would hope you could commit yourself to starting off with one meeting a year, and bring a friend.  The business meeting is held every second Tuesday of the month, so when you bid keep it in mind.

ExpressJet is beginning there new flying over at a new base in ORD for United Express.  They will also be flying for a new company known as Branson Express, doing charter style flying from Branson, MO.  We would like to remind those Flight Attendants at ExpressJet to go online at www.go142.org and fill out the proposal form for your upcoming contract negotiations. Just a few days are left. If you have any questions prior or during this process I encourage you to engage your base chair Michael Becerra.  He can be reached by phone 201-497-0098 or email vicepresident@LL23394u.org.  The district reps in conjunction with your local reps are working hard to resolve the restoration of days off issue dating back to the winter storms.

The news wire has been very busy the last several days with regards to the merger buzz.  When Usairways announced it was pulling out of talks with UAL the buzz went wild with renewed talks concerning UAL and CAL.  Many would say this was just a ploy to get CAL talking but in reality no one really knows.  We have to stay informed with facts not rumors.  We ask that you reach out to your Union reps and allow them to work for you. The District reps are very aware of what is playing out and will do there part to protect you and your contract.  When you have questions don't ask the jump seat ask your elected Union reps.  Keep in mind your grievance committee is in the base to enforce the contract, not to negotiate it.  If you have a question and they do not give and answer, allow them to direct you to the appropriate venue.  Visit www.go142.org often for up to date information with merger news.  We have to live in reality and prepare ourselves for what ever the future may hold.  Your local works hard for you every day and are here for you.  We all recognize that we will probably hear first from the news before our employer.  Your Union the IAM has a team in place that will direct us in what ever lies ahead.

Take care and fly safe.

In Solidarity,

Joey Guider, President LL2339-N
